What to choose
So I have a predicament. Me and the missus have decided to go on our first proper holiday in 4 years (no mates, no family and not much line fishing) at coffs harbour this April. Now between all the plans there hasn't been much room left for a fish although we will both go for a spear most days. I need to choose between my bream gear, Jack gear, beach gear or heavier landbased gear for mack's etc of the headlandands.
So what would you bring and why? |

Depends a bit on Mobility - there are creeks around Coffs where flicking a bream lure in for bream and flatty's is fun but they are getting pretty silted up.
I know there are Jacks around Coffs but I haven't had any success finding them, I suspect a boat is a big asset and I rarely had one in Coffs. I'm not really a beach fan - well the heavy beach gear anyway. I have a 7'6" 3 piece rod that with a 2500 reel I could press into service for the creeks, flicking plastics off the beach and off the rock walls if it wasn't too rough. That would be my call if I could only take one outfit. If I could sneak 2 in I go a 9ftr with a 4000 for spinning off the headlands and a bream outfit. Crusty

Cheers mate, used to get onto a few jacks right up the creek but haven't been there for years. Dunno much about chucking Jube's off the beach, should I still use as little weight as possible and rely on the lures action, or fight the swell a bit and stay in good contact with the lure?
