blade lures
just wondering
is it ok/does it work? to use small blades, metal and cranks lures (anything that sinks) in deep water say 20+m example place would be sydney harbour, bontany bay |

Both will take blades, flathead being the easier to target on blades althought at that depth a heavily weighted plastic MIGHT work better. i would go for something like a 1/4oz flick bait/minnow (Gulp 5" nucklear chicken working wonders for me at 18m here in melbourne for snapper and flathead)

In that sort of depth I would use plastic, it will work much better for both snapper and flatty, also try using jigs for snapper, something like duel adagio 30g

I have cought plenty of fish on blades in deep water in the harbour, colour can make a big difference, I find it to be better in winter.

Blading is a great way of covering water when you reach 15-20m, especially when there is a bit of wind.
Belly line and keep rod tips higher than normal, works for me.
