I just pick up my yellow limited edition t3 from my local tackle shop, as i got home i had a little test run and i noticed my line was hitting the body of the reel just under the t wing, as i would start slow rolling, is this ment to happen as it started to cut into my braid. as anyone had this happen to them or how can i fix it

If its what im thinking its the lid that lifts when you cast and closes if so mine touches in some places im not phased i haven't noticed anything to be of concern if you are run some tape along the edge.Good reel mate you will enjoy otherwise

I saw a thread or two about this issue on the tackletour forum. Under heavy load, braid would make little grooves in that area and eventually the line would catch those grooves during retrieve. Hopefully Daiwa have made that part of the reel more durable. Here's some info/feedback off the tt forum.

They may have made that part of the reel more durable, but what about the durability of your braid, ie the part that connects you to the fish, when it continuously makes contact with your reel?
I'd offload it before you lose a fish of a lifetime. Plenty better reels out there
