Flathead live everywhere in and around the bays of PP.
You will have the most fun fishing on the flats with a larger rod...say around 7ft.
good luck

i catch a lot of my flathead in the warmer months between 11 & 13 feet. But find the fish come in really close during the colder months. I've caught them in as little as 4 foot. This is a great time to chase big frogs with sp's, hb's and flies ( dog tooth, Shaggy dogg )

I getem mainly at the edges of drop offs in about 1-2metres of water, but i get some I also get some in deeper water, and also some in water as shallow as 1foot. So for hardbodies i use 52/68 dd scorpions or river2sea staticshad 60's
