Shimano US Online Parts Ordering

Just been for a stroll through the US branch of Shimano - and found their Online Parts ordering page.

Cant believe their prices in comparison to Aus. Eg: Stradic FJ Spool Ass $31.59...

Main rotor bearing (found under anti reverse) RD13274 BALL BEARING US $3.28 (GET OUT OF TOWN!!!) The same prices for the other bearings also!

http://fishshop.shimano.com/vip/prod...08474395183577

Now why cant the Australian website have this? Was found under Customer Service on the US website - wouldn't this make everyone's life easier?

Or as usual are we being gouged?

Wow that's cheap but how much is it to send here I'm guessing around 30 dollars

Shimano US refuse to post to Aus. Fair enough considering Shimano Aus has the rights to distribute here.

If you want to order anything through them you have to have it shipped to a contact in America and then have them forward it on.

I'm not surprised by the price difference to be honest.

I get most of my parts through a tackle store reel repairer for a decent price, plus they've pretty much got everything I need on hand.

Working on my own inventory but you can imagine how many parts are needed to run a reel repair shop without having to order lol

Likewise Nags. However luckily I haven't had the need for too many parts over the last few years - keeping reels properly maintained throughout the service period seems to benefit the parts from less wear and tear. However you can see from those jar pics that regardless of how well you maintain there will be some level of metallic wear regardless.

Just ridiculous how much a bearing over there is compared to here - a similar bearing in 304 grade stainless would set you back $25 + GST. A spool there $31 - here about $70...

The bearings for the line rollers average out at $30+ GST here at my mates and that's generous, his bearing suppliers are located on the corner of Over Inflated and Highway Robbery Streets.

TheLadFisherman - Postage rates have skyrocketed lately... Once it cost $7 to post a 2D Maglite to Aus - now it costs $15 to post it... Silly thing is that the Maglite only costs $16 AUD.

Edit: Found this on another forum - "get yourself an onforwarding address, relatively cheap and they will forward any packages to you that otherwise would not ship to Australia due to commercial agreements etc."
