Opinions on Loomis TSR 862-2 (not GLX)

Hey guys.
My dads looking looking at getting one of these and he wants to know how people have found them. Also, what blank have they been made on, I've tried to figure it out but any blank references are about the GLX model and I'd say they're not both GLX blanks as that would defeat the purpose of having the 2 models?

The blank is a special blend mate, so it isn't categorised under IMX, GLX, etc. It does feel like an IMX though. Great rod - but I would stretch for the GLX for sure.
