Question Daiwa Exceller Z

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone has used one of these reels. They are exclusive to Complete Angler which may make it harder to find. I just wanted to know if it is worth giving them a try for $300. It will be my first Daiwa reel, I have always used Shimano. I was looking at matching it up with a Nitro 7'6" Nitro 007 Magnum butt, as an all rounder comber to travel with.

for that money, you can find a used '10 certate, a brand new '12 luvias, a caldia or sol II with $ to spare.

Specs look very similar to the exceler da, but with a different paint job. If I recall correctly the exceler da were around the $169 mark at my local tackle shop a few years ago.

I would look for a second hand twin power before a certate or luvias, however I am restricted to buying in one store due to an insurance payout. Happy to say I got to use my local store and not DohDohDoh vouchers.

Yeah thats all I could find. Apparently the Z is tougher and lasts longer against corrosion. I ended up going with it as the guys at my local have never been wrong in the last 15 years.
