Fold down bench seat

G'day lads,

I'm about to a bit of a refurb of the Fullboar as well as distributing some of the weight from the back of the boat to the front. I will be getting a couple of AGM's to replace the deep cycles and moving them up around the bow, this in turn should free some space up in the rear of the boat. I want to convert this space into dry storage by making a folding bench style seat with three separate seats.

To start with I have a little bit of a plan to manufacture this from honeycomb sandwich panel layered with bi-axial fiberglass, with the main aim to keep the weight down but maintaining strength and durability.

The problem is that I am stumped on the hinge design as I want the three individual back rests to independent and able to fold down flat to increase the rear deck size and to have the whole bench seat fold up to access the storage space under the seat.

If any of you guys have a boat with this style of seat or any engineer minded folk, could you pass on some info to help out.

Cheers,

Muzz
