Gary Howard Northfork FW7021S for plastics?
Hi guys
I am looking/researching for a new soft plastic rod and came across the Gary Howard north fork rods, in particular the FW7021s 2-6lb. Just wondering if anyone had used one and their thoughts on it. Is it suited to plastics or softer and more suited to hard body use, and what type of guides do they have? The info I have found says fuji alconites, are they the k series? None of the shops around here stock them so I will order online if it is suitable. I am after a nice responsive and fast tapered rod. Ps it will be matched to a 1000 sustain fg. Thanks in advance Aadam |

Should be good for SPs. It's actually classed by Northfork as a 4-8lb Ex-Fast I've got a Northfork FW 701-1 HM with TiSiC K Guides on it and I built it for HBs. Love it.

they come in 2 different guide/ring models of the same rod... the north fork and northfork custom. the 2-6lb is very noodle like in the top half. you would not be happy with the $500 price tag if you wanted to throw any plastic heavier than 1/8th oz.

Hi guys, thanks for your help. From your responses I think I will leave it untill I can have a look at one to make sure it suits, or try to find something else that I like.
Thanks again Aadam |
