Nordic stage Sharpshooter what reel??

Hi guys. Just wondering if anyone who has a sharpshooter or who has used a sharpshooter can recommend a reel that balances nicely? I was thinking a 1000 luvias? thoughts? From what i have seen 1000 size reels seem to be the go for this rod

a 1000 sustain or rarenium should fit the bill, depending on your price range of course.

Any 1000 size will be perfect. The top half of the rod is under 9gm so it's a neutral balance even for the lightest 1000's available.

2000's are fine, light 2500's still give a near neutral balance.

cheers guys. it sounds as though what i thought was right but you can go to a 2000/2500 at a push. I prefer 1000s for breaming so i think i will stick with that and look into the shimanos that chris suggested as well. Any other suggestions would be great too!

IMO 1000s suck, You cant get as much casting distance as a 2000/2500 stick to daiwa also IMO

If you need a 7 footer i'd go a 2000 size for sure, a 2004 daiwa would be perfect.

Mick.

You mustn't have used a true quality lightweight rod saying that.
2000/2500 reels don't suit alot of Rods out there.
Any high quality 1-3kg rod almost needs a 1000.

Its what I'm confident in, and they are a lot lighter. Good to match to such a light rod

Ive been using the Sharpshooters for a while now and definitely prefer the 2004 size Daiwas on mine. Ive been using certates. Aswell as a 2500 Steez which has also been fine.

I run a 1003 Daiwa on my Jaeger which is the shorter model and find that matches up perfectly.

If you are a light man like me a 1003 luvias will fit perfectly. It depends... as you can see some like a 2500 size even. I have a 1003 luvias and it fits ok on 2-4kg zecton, but feels perfect on a samurai 101, samaki zing 1-3 and sharpshooter. I think any reel up to 200grams would be pretty fine on a sharpshooter. I'm sure a rarenium or stradic would be just as good if you like shimano.

I think it will come down to personal preference, my certates are 230grams and seem fine as well.

Probably be best to throw a few different reels on at the tackle shop and see what YOU prefer as you will be the one making the casts.
