Emeraldas 2506 set-up

Hi people
im after a new bream and estuary combo
im looking at buying an emeraldas 2506(not infeet)
im most certinally going to buy one
and from what ive gathered i should put 8lb super PE on it
and the rod im thinking of matching it to is a Green arrow
im either going t get a 4-8lb and 6'
or the 4-10lb and 6'3"
i dont know which i should get, will the extra 3" give more distance?
even though the rod has less spring in the tip for lighter lures?
does anyone have one of these rods?
or can someone suggest a rod for under $200

If you land base fishing then you really need long about 7ft or even little longer to cover more ground when you casting.

One rod you could have a look at is daiwa generation black 6ft10 1.5-3kg i think that will match up well and it only cost $140, or spend $30 more and buy the awesome lox 7ft3 1-3kg which i would prefer over generation black

The emeraldas is a very nice reel although I personally would not pair it with a 6' or 6'3" rod. It will be ridiculously bottom heavy and most likely find it uncomfortable to fish with. I would be looking at a 6'10" or longer rod for balance sake, the gen black is a good option or possibly look at a samaki, I have kitted my old man out with these rods and they are very good value for money.

the ema is not that heavy @ 210 grams .. i've use mine on 6'3 up to 7'2" rods .. IMO works fine either way

work out what u want the rod for .. what sorta lures you wanna cast .. that should decide what rod u get

thanks guys, this does help a little
i have looked at the generation blacks
and they are good, but the only thing i dont like is the size of the stripper guide compared to the size of the reel
im gonna just be using it for just general use
maybe stocked trout, bream in docklands, pinkies and flatties in the bay, and maybe carp in a creek
just casting hard bods and also plastics, relatively light, less that 1/8oz

my opinion would be if your ginna get a decent feel dont skimp on the rod. id rather a better quality rod over a expensive reel personally.

Have a look at the Tairyo Nano Speed plus, they are a lot of rod for the money! You don't need to spend up big in rods these days you will get something really good for $200.

I have one of my emeraldas on a 6'6 Nordic Stage Jaeger, this rod weighs 87g and is as thin as a pencil. The emeraldas is so light it won't throw out the balance on an ultra light combo.

I've got a Emma 2506 and it's the lightest reel I have. Normally I have it on a Black Label SSS 681MFS and it works well.

ive has a look at a few more rods
and im thinking the N.S one micro rod
it has KR guides and has micro rnning guides
4-8lb two piece and 6'6"
does anyon know anything about them?
