Super budget setup?

Hey guys, I'm pretty new to the forum and am keen to learn as much as possible. I have only just started to realise that normal fish live in the Swan river as my usual trips result in many pest by-catch style disappointment.
I am trying to learn as much as possible about using lures and am not sure how appropriate my setup is to this..
Im using a Silstar Damos Graphite 8-15 Lb, Daiwa Tierra 2500 with similarly rated finns braid.
I am noticing that most bream fishos go for 2-6 Lb setups and my rig is rated a bit much over that..
I have a spare spool for my Tierra that I could spool with some light braid or i could use a small Alivio 1000 with light braid but im not sure what to do with the rod. I dont want to spend much because money is TIGHT for me at the moment but im guessing that coming from a heavier rated rod will be a huge difference?
Im willing to spend up to this- http://www.fishingtackleshop.com.au/...nch-2-4kg.html

Thanks!

Matt,

I have the Starlo Classix 2-5kg and it does everything I need it to do. I'm new to Breamin but it has taken some punishment and landed some big fish - most recently, today 2x 50cm+ Flatties! Awesome fun.

Go for it you won't be disappointed

Liam

Super budget setup?

Hey mate, you keen to hit up the river some time this coming, Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday? Me and a couple of my more serious fishing mates are all still in high school so from your user name I think we might get along

Hey guys, well talk specifics via PM but what did you have in mind, the usual area is Claremont jetty? Mates have caught nice flatties and a couple of bream there. But being a rookie im open to suggestion?

125 Yards enough? Also the Alivio is in need of a service any ideas? Little rough in the bail arm at the moment.
