Stella origin

Hey guys I have a 2500FE Stella that I bought off ebay about a year ago (which im fairly sure it came from America). I was looking at the label on the box the other day and the specs say it has a 5.2 ratio, 14+1 bearings and came with the paddle/i knob. As far as I can tell the USDM Stellas have a 6.0 ratio and a T handle.......so, could it be a JDM? Any ideas of its origin?
Cheers

I thought the JDM ones had a serial number on top of the reel seat, however mine doesn't.....?
It's not a 2500S, it's a 2500Cheers

Take some photos for us mate, of the reel and the box. If it is a JDM model, it should just say Stella 2500 on the box rather than Stella 2500FE, in fact it shouldn't say FE anywhere on the reel if it is a JDM model.

Yeah I thought there shouldn't be an FE on the box if it is JDM.

Cheers

That is strange, all reliable sources claim that the FE has a 6.0:1 ratio. I have also compared my JDM model with a mates 2500FE and I could notice the difference in gear ratios. See how many times the rotor spins with 1 turn of the handle, then you should know what the true gear ratio is.

Edit: Just tried it with mine, probably easier to spin the rotor with your hand and wait until the handle returns to the same position. Mine spins around approximately 5 and a bit times before the handle returns to the same position

Yeah approximately 5 and a bit full turns of the rotor to one wind of the handle

I think it's from the UK/European market. The Stella 2500FE is listed as having a 5.2:1 gear ratio there.

It probably explains why the specs are printed in so many languages on the box...

There you go, half your luck I would love that reel the 1st thing I did to my aussie bought fe was put a I knob on it.
6.0 to 1 is a bit fast for breaming too I reckon. I only use mine for blades really.
I've been leaning back to the 1000 as my fave lately
Cheers matt

6.0 is a bit high for slow rolling, but your laughing when it comes to racks!!!! Got to love the stellas no matter what the size.
