What light offshore rod would you recommend

So I just just about buy either a samurai or saltiga extreme 15-25 lb rod to be used as my long tail and light offshore rod when i thought i might just see if people think there are better options around either in australia or overseas in th $450-$500 price range... I will be matching it with the new Catalina 4500 or 5000

bang for your buck the majorcraft offblow OB76PE is an unbelievable rod for longtails, or if you want the rolls royce the evergreen poseidon ocean hunter POHS77

I have both rods, both matched with 5000 shimano (sustain/stella) and am yet to find anything nicer!

Both were purchased at jones' tackle in Brisbane, what do you mean by "light offshore"? They are basically light popping rods

Not so good as a plastics rod. They are more suited to poppers up to 50gm and stickbaits around the same size

Hey ozskippy
have a look at the patriach XTR PPS70H-F 7ft 14lb-25lb i use this offshore with a 3500-4000 size reel with 30lb braid and i use leaders from 30lb-60lb throwing plastics it has a nice tip and heaps of grunt when you need it
it is also very light to hold so you can throw plastics all day
and they are a great price. hope this helps

Phenix Black Diamond range. Just do a google search on these puppies to see the rave reviews that get in the states. And well within your budget for a pre-built.

My other suggestion would be something built on the CTS blank range, but they're probably a bit too pricey for what you're after.
