From Braid Back to Sufix Duraflex Mono....Excellent !

Having used different braids for a lil while and loving it, i thought i would try some mono on my main reel. Usually using Stren or Fireline Crystal, and Trilelene Sensation Mono on my spare reel, i have been pleasantly suprised with Sufix Duraflex in 6.7lb only being at 0.16mm super soft, and pretty much no memory. It casts well, and has great knick resistance. My main reasons for using it were its sensitivity, and my change of fishing style, being predominantly land based, but fishing around piers and man made structure for bream obviously and being more mobile. So far no leader needed for the greenish coloured. Pound for pound and size for size this stuff is within 90% of Fireline Fused Crystal line size diameter.

Being expensive for a mono but cheaper than braid, being $20 for 300m, at this stage i am happy to use it as my main line. What are other peoples experiences ??

I use fire line exceed 8 lb braid and it has worked really well I used to have mono on my reel I could still feel the hits on my lure but not the really timid ones so I changed to braid and so far it's changed my hook up rate heeps I can feel the most timid of bites really lovin the braid.

Well done No doubt braid is excellent and in most cases superior. The Sufix Duraflex like i said is par for par nearly the same thickness for a mono as a fireline fused braid. Sensitivity is one of its advertising points. Its not as sensitive as a braid, but again i would say its about 70-80% there on soft touches IMO. On the clear takes, this is negated, especially when using lures. I am getting a slightly better working action out of my hard bodies.
