G'day and welcome to the site. Lures I have had luck on in the shallows so far are sx40 's in WA vampire 303 and 307. And cranks cranks in flash prawn, wicked prawn, bling prawn and pink bits. Most of the more natural colours of either of these two should have you finding fish. P.s. you have posted this in the line section instead of the lure section. Good luck Rob

heaps of hards work in the swan mate, my fav 6 in no particular order are:

1) MegaBass Smolt
2) Ecogear SX-40 (in WA vampire)
3) Smith Luna 47s
4) Nories Laydown minnows
5) Cranka cranks
6) Zipbaits Khamson (505A)

Myself I like the strike pro Pygmy's and sprat sticks, atomic cranks and Cranka cranks and even using blades on the flats like the ecogear vx and zx work well,For very shallow stuff the ecogear mx48's are brilliant

I hear that the Hurricane FLATZA does pretty well over there in the flats

My favorite lure by far is a strike pro sprat sick ing the colour 130vs. Work it like a soft plastic and make sure that it gets to the bottom.

If you are new to Bream fishing I would recommend using sx40's and simply retrieving them very slowly and pausing the lure every 5 metres or so, for at least 3 seconds! It may take a few trips before you get your first bream but it'll be worth it when you do Good Luck!

Last summer, most of my luck was on sx-40's. I found darker colours are better but that is just my opinion. I also mainly fish deeper flats (around head height in depth). My mate who I was fishing with had some luck on cranka cranks. I really want to try some Nories Laydownminnows, Hurricane Flatza, Austackle Panniku and Mx-48's this summer.
