Protecting the reel foot.

Hi guys,

I was just wandering, I have a reel where the paint has been chipped a little on the foot. Is there any way to protect the reel foot from further damage and should I be worried about corrosion (it is a biomaster fb)?

If you guys have any tips or tricks in protecting the reel foot, would you guys mind sharing or posting up pics?

Cheers guys!
Clement

PS. Is this a common problem among reels and rods?

Yes it is a common problem, no corrosion won't be an issue if you clean any salt off and dry it properly, and thirdly no I have no suggestions as to how to prevent it

try some clear rod binding varnish or clear nail polish. clean the reel foot with some metho, dry it and then apply a couple of clear layers, allowing each layer to dry fully. if you want to match the reel colour, go into a chemist with your reel
