Sustain, its a proven reel that has been around for years and years. More robust to being bashed around by snapper IMO

Hey mate, I've got a NRX 852 nearly identical, I have a sustain fg 2500 and a Stradic fj 4000 that have turns on the rod and both Suit it great, I believe the bsr may only just feel a bit bigger/ heavier.
They are a beast of a rod and I suggest maybe a 4000 to get the absolute max out of the rod if the opportunity arose eg- spinning for barra, tuna, average kings where you could run 20lb braid.
If not the 2500 for 8-15 lb braid.

Just a thought mate that's what I do..
Cheers matt

I agree with Matt ^

They are an unbelievably powerful rod, I fished mine with a Stella FD 2500 and the reel just doesn't do the rod justice, I now use a Twin Power 4000 with 20lb. bionic to spin snapbacks for longtails and chase goldies up in hervey bay and the rod does it with ease

Would have to agree with the guys, a slightly bigger reel is great for this rod. I have the 852 bsr matched with a Morethan branzino, balances well and has great line capacity if u have the opportunity to chase some speedsters. This rod will fishs well outside its recommendations. I use this setup as my jack, barra plugging outfit.
