Braid for Exist 3000

Heya
Thinking about picking up a Daiwa Exist 3000 (pre 2012 model).
Wondering whats a good braid without going crazy on price that I should put on?
I actually have no idea whats a good braid even after reading so much.
I've used Fireline, Power Pro, Daiwa Tournament 8.
Want to try something different.
I'll probably order from Plat or other Jap online tackle stores.
Would also help if anyone who has owned this reel know how much line this can take as most spools I've seen are 150-200m only.

What do you want to fish for matey? Do you have an idea on what line class you are interested in?

I have a 3000 branzino and it holds the same as the exist, I have that spooled with 150m of Unitika jigging 35lb 8 strand.

I would try and take a look at the Toray lines if you are after something that won't cost the world. Sunline also make some very very nice 8 strand lines. Both can be had easily locally.

I just put megabass dragon call 16lb on a 2508 exist hyper and that is very nice line and can be found online.

Just fishing off wharfs which is about what I do 80% of the time.
To be honest, this outfit is an overkill because I'll just be going to my local jetty after work once or twice a week in Cronulla.
From Cook's River to Gunnamatta Bay, I don't think there's anything big to put any strain.
In other words, no specific task.
The Megabass sounds exotic.

Yep that's what I said, until a 80/90cm king takes your lure, I've seen a few get caught there mate and have been popped plenty of times on the moorings, not to mention the odd Jew.

Gets to crowded most nights, just imports fighting over catching squid for bait. Sick of all the drama that goes on, I stopped going there after reports of people getting bashed and their gear taken. So I wouldn't be going down by myself at night with an exist, particularly If your the only one.

imports?

I just chucked this on my branzino, fit a full 300m spool of 30lb on it. I know 30lb is heavy, but this stuff is stupidly thin (0.16 diameter). It is so supple and silky smooth, I would have no hesitation putting it on a 3000 exist, it casts a mile. Plus you can get it for 70 posted from the UK on the bay of e

I no way did I mean it in a derogatory way mate, my old man immigrated here when he was 8. Anything I say I don't mean to seriously lol. Pretty sure I worded it in the least possible offensive way!

unless you are an indigenous australian everyone here was an "import". Calling people "imports" is derogatory believe it or not mate. They are not products or livestock, they are people. Its completely irrelevant what nationality they are, they are just people catching squid for bait, thats the least offensive way to put it

Way to off topic for me so ill just say this.

I dealt with it growing up and laughed about it! just like my old man did, to this day we still throw "offensive" words like that around as a family and among friends of ALL NATIONALITIES/BELIEFS AND SEXUAL PREFERENCE and don't take it the way society wants us to take it. How you feel about the situation is irrelevant to me GF, nor am I someone who cares about what people think about MY opinions or their thoughts of what I say or do. Your thought on what I said as being derogatory is opinion, not fact.

I apologize for going off topic, I ran 15lb super PE for my light 3000 work mate and didn't break the bank.

Thanks for the heads up. I usually go there with a mate. Sometimes you do get some people hanging around the BBQ on a cold winter's night doing nothing and you start wondering why.

I know that braid. I've got a 50lb on my Catalina 4500. It's nice braid. The local tackle store sells it for $90.
I just want to try something else such as Toray, Varivas or Unitika.
Just looking at these:
40% OFF/UNITIKA Light Jigging 14lb-200m
Varivas LIGHT JIGGING 10X10 14lb-200m
SUNLINE PE JIGGER HG LIGHT SPECIAL 12lb-200m
TORAY SALTLINE SEABASS PE 15lb-150m

But it looks like 200m/ 150m won't be enough?

That sounds good.

Is there any real meaning to the term "jigging braid" and just normal braid?

Ive also got the varivas 10x10x light jigging braid and that stuff is awesome. Although yes its only a 200m spool you can just chuck a heap of backing on it which shouldnt really even be seen with 200m of braid in front of it (unless you hook a beast of a fish). Plus 200m is a good amount incase of any unexpected break offs or getting cut off, plenty of line for most applications.
Great braid
