I've got the 8500L ESP 2-6 LB matched with a caldia 2500 and highly rate it perfect for casting plastics and working them awesome rod

I've heard a lot of people say that they are good plastics rods. Are they still quite good for flicking small hardbodies?? I like the look and I prefer split grip rods so they seem like a really good rod

In my opinion the rod is very comfy at first i wasn't sure but as soon as I put to use I realised how comfy it was good for the price as for hard body's don't see why not cant tell you from personal experience i have not used it on them yet should cast them fine though

It casts small hb's fine. Because the tip is so light I seem to get more distance out of the cast than I did with a 1-3kg trion.

Yeah I figured that it would be fine throwing around small hb's. Looks like it will be the next rod on the shopping list

I just bought the 9000 2l ESP model, got it new last weekend for a bargain price.

I find the butt way to long for my liking and it also feels way to soft for my liking aswell.

I threw one of my old SOL 2000's on it and it balanced well.

Will make a good trout combo, once the season hits agin!

I have the 2-6 lb model, it looks more like a 4-8 tho. It has a nice soft action but I think it's heavy. A nice rod tho, loads up nicely on a good fish

Brilliant rod for the money. They are pretty good for placcies, but will handle hards as well.

I was looking at the 2-6lb one a while ago but decided to spend a bit more and get the Dsr820s blend. I reckon it's nicer but im still keen to have a propper fish with the gl2.
If you look at the DSR blends, try and find the INTL/au version. The shorter handle makes it a bit easier to work lures and the guide set up is a bit diff to the US version.
Either way, you can't go wrong with a Loomis
