Canon G1X

Just a warning to anyone considering the new Canon G1X, especially to those of you who already own a G11 or G12.
I purchased a new G1X a few days ago and while the image quality is certainly fantastic for a small camera, the G1X cannot do macro or close ups like the G11 or G12. Minimum focus distance in macro mode is around 25 cm and it has major problems trying to focus at close distance in low light or on a shiny metallic fishes head or other similar wet or shiny objects.
So if you like the extreme close ups that the previous G series cameras can do, don't expect this from the G1X.
The menus are also a bit different and not quite as simple as the other G series cameras. Hope this bit of info helps anyone thinking about buying the G1X.
