Ya could try a blow up doll. Mako's like us. Wack a bit of blood on the arms and legs and your cruising And if things arnt biting you can.....na wont go there.
Iv seen shows where people have caught mako's on soft plastics two but cant remeber what they where using.
It looks like it would be great fun.

chears, Nathan

Ryan Thipthorp has been catching snapper in Perth up to 5 kilos
on those Ecogear squids! Pics are in the next issue of the mag.

I caught a mako shark on the show about 2 years ago and I rate it as one of my best captures ever. Landed it on 10 kilo mono (no wire) and it was about 80 kilos, we didn't weigh it though.

I've never caught a marlin or a sailfish but I've caught just about everything else and this was the fastest thing I've ever been attached to. From the time I said I'm on! The camera man turned the camera on and lifted the camera up (about 5 seconds) the shark was about 100m out the back of the boat jumping!

It went ballistic, jumped about 4 times including big cartwheels out of the water. I had it to the boat about 6 or 8 times and it would power off again, I was buggered!

better idea

you could make a soft plastic arm( human one) with the coulors of the blood on the arm and the red part where it used to be attached to the body, have an insert chamber where you put in the blood, or berley if you must, and rig it up with a drop shot rig, for mako's, wadda ya reckon? aye?

i think it is a good idea.
