Ive just moved to Yamba NSW after 18 yrs in Darwin (gettin too hot or Im too old).Im going to have to change the tackle I use quite a bit & am finding it hard to get my head around using 4lb line but not having to keep a watch out for crocs is great.Ive been lucky enough to have been taken out by one of the lads from the NCFForum which has been a great help plus the info Ive been able to pick up here on this site which I hope i can contribute to as I go

Welcome mate, big change from Darwin haha, fishing and weather. You will have to get used to peoples enthusiastic attitude towards fish that are really not much bigger than Barra Bait. Bet your feeling the cold now.

Where abouts in Darwin did you live mate? I lived in Nightcliff for a few years, would still be up there if it were not so far away from family.

I lived on 5 acres in Humpty Doo mate(feral country),I think weve come to Yamba at the right time ,near on summer so we can acclimatise.We lived in flats on N/Cliff dve when we first went to Darwin.Fishing can be great in the top end especially around run off time (March/April) probably best but most is a couple of hrs by car then same by boat but you can also fish from the culverts passing under the main rd for smaller fish if you can find a spot,if anyone is heading up that way Im more than happy to pass on some info but great site here lots of info & Ive got plenty to learn,cheers

Yeah i know Humpty Doo pretty well mate. I lived in flats when i first moved there as well, in Poinciana Street. The place was like a bloody oven by the time i got home from work everyday, don't miss that. Don't think i ever really got used to the humidity especially during build up, but loved the place, great lifestyle up that way, travel is just part of living there i guess.

Used to fish Coroboree, Shady Camp etc a fair bit and around Mandorah and Nightcliff Jetty/ rocks for pelagics. Pretty good going at the right times.
