G loomis rods

I've been looking and I relized that there is about 600 different rods and blanks they make.

What are in your opinion is the best for
Bream
Flathead
Snapper
Jigging for kingy's

I need one of each but just want to see people thoughts

With so many to choose from this is what I run--

Bream- dsr820s glx x2 with 1000 reels. These are sweet for snag and cover fishin with hardbodies and plastics where huge casts aren't needed. Also smashes big by-catch flatties with ease.

Bream- tsr862-2 glx x1 with a lightweight 2500 for surface walkers and vibes over flats. This could be the ultimate rod my opinion.Could do the above but not as ballsy.

Big Flatties/snapper- I've been waiting now a month for an nrx852s , I've got a 3000 reel with 10lb braid ready to go. After handling one in the shop I had to have one!
Ps. American loomis sellers will take your money before letting you know they are on back- order!! Anyway I will have saved some $$$ when I get it...

Just picked up my NRX 852 s this morning from the local tackle shop and it feels amazing, I can't wait to use it. I'll be using mine with a Fireblood 4000 and it will be used for everything from snapper to barra.

There are a rediculous amount of loomis rods. The TSR 862-2 is the most popular for bream. The simano boys where working on a ozzy designed gl2 aswell, should be out soon I think.

the NRX is getting very popular in the heavier range

I dont know about jigging for kings I have not bought a loomis rod for that.

If you can, try to support local tackle when buying these rods. We need to back locally to keep the tackle shops cranking while the dollar is high. So many people are buying overseas and this means we dont get as much support when it comes to local sponsorship of comps.

If the dollar keeps up there and people keep buying so much overseas we may not have locals that you can go in and look before you buy.

That's all good Chris I 100% agree with supporting tackle shops and actually do with everything but my loomis rods, my local boys get plenty of funding from me!! They reckon they can't even bring them in through their dealer for the price direct from a us dealer when I enquired, it is a shame but an NRX for$690 local or $425? Its not fair on the locals, they can't compete.

I think your local is profiteering a bit on the NRX I got mine from my local today for $380. I find his prices are always competative with online and you get the local warranty which is a bonus as well.

Mate that sure is an unreal price! I saw $690 in a tackleworld in the city, my local boys won't even get them in...

didn't mean to hijack your thread, but Matt his philosophy is to place a small mark up and move as much stock as possible rather than maximising profits and having it sit there for months. Who am I to argue?

Mate there is a big difference in price between the different blanks Loomis sell. Also if you don't need new then quite often other members on this site upgrade their rods and some are like new but with the potential to save you 100's of dollars.

You really need to feel the rods for yourself and work out what reels you are going to put on them before making a final decision as you are making a sizeable investment if you want high quality rods to suit those needs separately.

Loomis with Stella's, for a bloke with limited funds you certainly have expensive tastes
