Squidgy Pro Lobby - like / dislike ?

ok my session was cut short yesterday when I forgot that water + concrete = slippery so my session was cut short last night LOL

i was testing out the squidgy lobbys and was wondering how people like to rig these ?

I had them on backwards - like gulp prawns with the head and feelers at the hook point (not the jig head end).

they cast pretty well on 1.5 grams, but i couldn't see the action since it was pitch black.

how do you guys like rigging these and what's your success been on these ?

I normally rig mine by removing a portion of the tail and then hooking through the tail, this creates more of a yabby immitation with the long feelers.

The way you did it is a good way to use them as a prawn immitation.

Both mehods work, but mine hardly get a run as i tend to use hawgs, monster mikis and critters as my creature baits.

Cheers,
Michael.

The big Dusky Flathead love them I've caught plenty over 60cm on Lobbys. I rate them quite highly.

paps, i was umming and arring between this and the critters but it sure sounds like the lobbys work well enough, let's see how i go trying to finish off a pack!

i did read somewhere that people did cut the tail section off - might have been one of your earlier posts

personally, if chasing bream, i would take the critter over the lobby everyday.. I have had a fair bit of success with the critter in flash prawn... I guess it just depends on what youre chasing, and i guess this is just my opinion.

sweet .. i just liked the look of the lobby and wanted to try it out .. i have many packets of unopened lures .... didn't want the lobby to be another unopened pack !

try the critter styles next once i've worked out the lobbys.

I've done the same with these and had a fair bit of success with them on Bream in the past but just can't seem to stay away from Wrigglers first and Miki's second.

They are right up the top of my list for flatties, but never thown them at bream. If its not a bloodworm wriggler it tends not to even get a look in

I haven't been able to catch much on them so i've basically had an open pack sitting in my tackle box for over a year now. Wrigglers with their tail action on the other hand have been the go to lure for me as they always catch bream for me.

I tried a damiki monster miki on my previous session and it was getting som attention but unfortunately short takes and missing the setting of the hooks. Think the fish were biting the long bits only... Still need to work them out.

I've recently discovered the Lobby in "Grenade"

Every fish we caught at the squidgy comp in mallacoota was on this lure...

and we came 8th...

Exclamation

I have only used them in shallow water on hidden weight jig heads and have landed bream trevs and even a monster blackfish in the hacking!

I know blokes that use them on worm hooks and skip them along the surface and even cut the legs off and just use them like a berkley shrimp so they are pretty versatile.

It's the one plastic I'm looking forward to using this comming summer

Cheers

Pete

I have used them in both clean & dirty water.
Only the small size, I like the wasabi the most in any colour water and the dusk in clear water.
I always chop off close to a 1/3 of the tail end and rig on to a 1/16 or 1/20 TT size 2 hook.

Medium lobby's rigged on 3 gram squidgy heads on a # 1 hook do the trick in deep water. Coat them in your favourite scent. I also throw em with colorado rev heads.
As breambucket suggested, you can cut the curly bits off and run em the other way, hidden weight, heavy or weightless.
I've found the colour dusk to be very productive.
I always cut the tail piece off when rigging tail first.
