Micro vibe retrieve???

Hey guys,

I've been fishing SP's for over two years, and have caught some decent fish... I've recently invested in a couple of strike pro 2g sinking micro vibes. I'm just wondering what the best retrieve for them is??? Do you let it sink to the bottom and hop it like an SP? Or use a slow roll with pauses???

Also, do snags often cause a problem? I don't fancy losing $12 every snag

Cheers

Hey Mate,

They are at their best around Pylons. Just a short lift and drop is usually the way to go around Pylons. Bream will often take them on the drop so watch your line closely. I have used them in the rivers occassionaly and had success working them like a plastic, couple of small hops then pause. Snags can be an issue like any vibe but they are slow sinking so it is often easy enough to avoid.

i love that lure its got to be one of the easiest to use i recon most of my fish i got on it smashed it the second the lure hit the water lol. But i usualy fish it with a short hop retrieve staying in contact with the bottom, very similar to blades. I've also had fish take it of the bottom when just sitting there so stay in contact with it at all times.
Is it just me or is it very snag resistant i never get them snagged, i think its because of the single treble.

They are tiny and they will catch their fair share of small fish but they will also catch the bigger ones. If you are going to use Micro's give baby vibs a go as well slightly bigger and can be worked in the same way. They are a super easy lure to use and probably a good one to get started on. Good luck

Hi Dannyboy,
When you hop these lures only lift the rod tip 3''-4''.Keep the hops small and let the lure rest on the bottom for around 5 seconds between hops. This lure comes fitted with Owner ST11 Hooks so it flutters on the drop, with the ST36BC they counter balance the lure so it doesnt flutter then on the drop.
The big advantage of this lure is that once it hits the bottom it sits on its nose and doesnt fall on its side, which is a trait of metal vibes. We have filmed alot of lures underwater and to see the footage of how this lure sits on the bottom you can see why the Bream find them appealing.

They are under-rated fishing on flats and other locations but work fine in those areas aswell.

I have found that fish just hit them when your deadsticking or on the drop, gaggas video is perfect in showing you how to smack the bream on them.

I have experience a great deal of success using Micro's this summer around the pylons littered throughout Melbourne's Yarra river. I have found them to be most effective on the drop, so therefore cast them in tight against a pylon or similar structure, they work well under boat hulls and pontoons, and free spool them as they drop. Try to feed your line to the lure as it falls down the water column, you want the lure to remain as close to the pylon as possible, any pressure on the line will pull the Micro away from the structure and more importantly the fish. Watch your line for any indication of a fish and when you do get a hit load up your rod and pray that the fish doesn't wrap you around a dirty great pylon. If they don't get hit on the drop I'll give them a few short hops, lifting the lure only a few inches each time. Then retrieve and cast again.

Great lure, a must have in all bream anglers tackle box!

Cheers
Corey

hey guys,

Thanks for ressurecting the thread. Always handy getting new advice. Ive had pretty good success with the mirco over the last year, or so, though I do get ticked off losing them to nasty structures.

ive never had alot of success with them using a jigging style just hopping vertically near structure (like the video ^^^), but i think they are an underrated vibe on flats
