I just recently go a Duffrods 842sp, its a 7', 2 piece rod designed especially for Hardbodys, do a search for the thread called duffman x series.

If you dont like 2 piece rods he does a range of 1 piece rods which are great all round rods.

The samurai 203 is designed for HBs.... It would probably be the best out there.

smiths bayliner metal rf BLM-73UML/RF. I gots the 6'8" it's sweet as and when loaded up pings it out a mile. So I'd imagine the 7'3" would really torp it out there. Feels especially nice when twitching the HB after the pause if that's how you like your retrieve.

For max distance casting hard bodies about 3 to 4gms I suggest the Lox LS7623 7'6" 1-3kg rods. They are a bit longer and nice and stiff allowing a very long cast.

Crikeys I am getting confused, looks like there are many ideas and many rods, the Lox rods look like a reasonable price option are they any good and who sells them ?

Lox rods are a good deal. They come with a rod tube too. And if you break a section they are cheap to replace at about $50 I think. I live in Hobart, Tassie so I'm not able to tell you who stocks them near you.

ive lately been using a tsr862 loomis. i like the feel of a longer rod with a nice soft tip. had a look at a samurai 203 today and its not too bad either.

I use a Daiwa Sol 2000 on mine. That matches up nicely.

Not really any such thing as a Hard Body rod so don't get too drawn in to that. There are rods that will be better suited to how you like to fish your hard bodys but only you can determine that.

If distance is an concern a longer rod can be the answer (but not always) but even this depends on what your general preference for lures is. If you mainly slow roll fat heavy lures like a Chubby your choice may be different than if you like using light slim lures.

Look at how and why you fish first then you can narrow down your choice.

If its bream HBs then the loomis GLX SR 842-2 will ping your lures a mile. Loads up nice for the lighter lures.
