hey mate,

I have used a sephia, own a raycal, and have also owned a daiwa egee interline.

The raycal is the best out of the lot in my opinion.

I suggest you get the rods rated to 3.5. You will find it will still throw small 2.0 jigs a stupid large distance, but still allows you to throw the bigger jigs around if need be.

I generally use size 3.0 jigs on the raycal RE 792 EL and find this is the perfect weight, however it is rated to 3.5's. I have tried chucking 4.0's with it and it just cant handle it. Throwing 2.5's on the other hand is still amazing and it absolutely flies.

Just re read your post and realise you were talking about the overseas sephia. I have not used this model but have heard great things about them, so maybe give that a shot if you prefer the design of the raycal and can fork out a bit more money.

But in general get the rod rated to the 3.5, you wont notice much of a difference casting the lighter weights but when it comes to casting the heavier ones you will, so may as well go for the all rounder

I'm with Fisho HR Egi Force type B look no further. Balances perfectly with a 2000 Certate, and flings a 1.8, 2.0, 2.5 & 3.0 a mile. Havent put a 3.5 or bigger on it as most of my land based spots are fairly shallow and even a 3.0 unless its slow sink, sinks too fast.

yep the HR is absolute tops, I use mine with up to 3.5's and it flings them a mile.
this is the only eging rod I have owned though so I really cant compare it against anything...
also like above I would grab a rod rated to 3.5, very versatile...
cheers

I've got a Majorcraft Pandra and its an awesome rod. Majorcraft make awesome rods for relatively good prices. I've had the JDM Sephia BB egi rod, it's not as nice as the Majorcraft. Go for the Raycal.
