Haha sounds spot on. Ive only had my 2004 for a few weeks and have only used it a handful of times, but so far i love it.

I have a 2500 and I love it.
You won't get much tougher or stronger in that size.

The only negative thing I have heard about '10 Certates is that the drag goes lumpy after a while.

I for one have had bad luck with Certates, can't really give them a rep...

I might end up getting a 4000 Certate shortly, in the hope that it will be third time lucky.

Sorry to hear about all the bad luck you've had mate.
What kind of stuff went wrong with your reels and were they all 2010 models.

These are the '09 Models (which are ment to be the better quality choice out of the 2???)

First was the Finesse which had a slight kick in it when winding, which didn't seem like much but overtime was annoying. This was within the first week.

The current 25R model has had serious trama's. Grinding and noisy by the first session... and I mean REALLY noisy. To put it simple the Symetre 1000 I had is smoother and quieter then the Certate.

It's no massive failures by any means, but for the price. A sol seems more ideal from my experiences.

But, I'm convinced that I just lucked out. If the 4000 stuffs up, I'll just give up on Certates and stick with Luvi's etc.

Dunno about everyone else, but i am trying my hardest to kick the ass off my 1003, and it just swallows it up. Barra to 90+ cm, small fingermark, tarpon, tilapia, in all sorts of crap. I love it, you won't get it off me.

The finesse i bought off you? If so, you must've been winding it in a place where you could hear even a pin drop. Nothing wrong with that reel at all.. At the end of the day your meant to catch fish with it, not sit in the corner winding it all day. Cheers for the reel but!

Just curious that a shimano man who keeps claiming Daiwa made the worst baitcast reel would still wanna try his third certate if he thought the previous 2 did "fail" him...

Why still bother? too much $$ huh?

I know what you mean about a slight kick being annoying.
My 2500 cir has one and it drives me crazy.
Then again my mate has 4 ci4's and they are much smother and even tho you can just feel the kick it's only just noticeable.
I shimmed the bearings in my ci4 and it's made a world of difference.

Yeah, a Certate isn't a B/C bro.

I never said I dislike Daiwa over-all.

My mate has a Certate 2500 which is smooth and no kicks. He also had if for like a month now and it still feels new.

That why I plan to get a 3rd one, as I know that they are good.

Especially that the finesse did sell for ALOT more then the normal Certate - aswell as the 25R.

For the price, I'd expect better.

That's all, no point arguing about it.
