Talking 6lb hercules braid from kmart

Hi guys.
Anybody given this line a go.
I pretty much only use berkley and power pro and I'm happy with them but I've seen this line when checking out Kmart's huge range of fishing gear(NOT)
Lately I've noticed hi end company's making gear for brand name companies and renaming them I thought this line maybe the same case.
Thanks.

I used this stuff about 4 or 5 years ago when I got into lure fishing. It would randomly break quite often. I remember losing a few fish to it just from random breakages. Probably better off sticking with fireline and power pro.

Cheers

I wonder if they have improved the formula over the years.

I just think for a bit over $20 you can get Crystal fireline. It is great stuff.

Cheers,

It is made for Jarvis Walker but is actually re-branded Suffix braid.

I think you blokeshave made my mind up for me.
I'll get some berkley I think.
I have some 4lb crystal on another reel and I cant keep a knot from braking , it's about 1 season old.
On the other hand I have green berkley that is about 4 seasons old which is as strong as day one, this is the case on about 4 reels as I run the same green f'line line on most of them.

Gozz,

I have several rods with 4lb and 3lb Cyrstal fireline, some are well over a year old and get flogged, never had crystal fireline break. Popped plenty of leaders though

Cheers,

Cheers,
That's the problem I also have.
The braid wont break in a straight line but the leader knot snaps as soon as I put a little pressure on it.
I've tried about 4 different knots with out much luck.
When I first got it the knot strength was excellent.

I've caught trevs upto 50cm which give alot for there size. Never had my 4lb Crystal break on me and my leader Normaly pops just under the knot if I have a snag. Now using 5lb power pro on another combo and find it awesome also best fish to date on that line is a 56cm jack.

Is it the leader breaking when your knot pops or the briad? I highly doubt its the fireline.

more then likely your knots need some work!

A good Slim Beauty will end your problems.

Mine snaps just under the leader knot... Ive never had it break on a fish though just snags ( on purpose ).

sounds like your braid is cutting your leader. what knot do you use? Try a Kane-It or Slim Beauty
