Abu Garcia Revo S

Hey all,

As some may have read from my other thread, i'm in the market for a low profile baitcaster. I was looking at the Shimano Caenan then saw DohDohDohDohDohDohDohDoh had a special on the Abu Garcia Revo S @ $119 with free delivery. Anyone got any feedback on this reel for a baitcaster newbie?

yep heard very good thing about the revo and at that price you can't go wrong. if they had it in left hand wind i'd get one myself.
what are you targeting with it?

probably just bass for now.
i've used spinning outfits since i started fishing and am keen to give the baitcaster a go. i know they definitely have a left hand retrieve model but like most models available this way, it's not available in aus
some US sites have them for good prices though.

depends what kinds of lures you plan to use , if your chucking spinnerbaits and reasonable sized hardbodies/ lippless crankbaits then go for the baitcaster, but if your using soft plastics and smaller hard bodies i'd stick with a quality spin outfit.
