if you get a new bearing, pack it with grease, this will prolong the life of the bearing. Otherwise go to a bearing shop with the roller bearing and get them to measure it up and find a plastic bush from their inventory. you will never have a hissing roller again after this.
I've noticed people how give their reels a wash seem to have alot more roller bearing issues; those who eith just wipe their reals down with a damp cloth or don't wash never seem to have problems. Having said this is doesn depend on where you are fishing and the salinity of the water. i had a brand new dogfight "waterproof" bearing cark it after 2 weeks of working surface stickbaits in an extremely saline and hot environment. everyday the reel was covered in a thick 1mm crust of salt however. |

Get a crbb bearing for it like the top end daiwa reels have.

they still start hissing and sieze up after a little salt intrusion - ive had both dogfight and branzino need new rollers within a year of use. get a bush if you want no hassels

Certates, Exists and Steez all have CRBB's, but all have the same problem. Maybe you can get those ceramic bearings in those size? No need to worry about corrosion, and its super smooth.

Freams kix have a white plastic bushing as standard.... order one to suit the 2500 and it'll never fail you...
alternatively what I do is as Gummyguy said, pack em with grease... |

Thanks for the help, what is a Freams kix ? and where can I get the bush from ? Grease does help them last a bit longer. Never had a problem with Steez,Branzino,Saltiga line roller bearings, replaced one in a 2000 Airity but it probably was not designed to do 30 000 rpm. Tried every type of lubrication exept vaseline and KY jelly sammy.

How much do you reckon the hybrid ceramics are? You can get a set for baitcasting spools for 40 bucks. Only thing is finding the correct size.

hybrid are useless as the cage will corrode and then there will be noises.hybrid means that only the tiny balls are Silicon Nitride (Si3N4) Ceramic Balls.the cage that holds these balls are either stainless steel or chrome steel.
full ceramic ball bearings is completely whiteish in colour.kinda turning your green note into white.lol. |
