G.Loomis DSR820S GLx
hey bm members
just a question on preference. i just bought the dsr820s glx rod. i am looking at matching it with a steez. but what size would you prefer to put on it. 2004 or 2508. i did notice the first guide is pretty close to the reel seat. so would it be better to run smaller reels. and people who owned or have owned this rod can you post up what your running for reels. cheers thanks hai ho |

I would go the 2508 is it has 7 kg drag
The steez 2004 has only 2 kg I dont have the gl820 But I do have a 2004 Maybe if there is any bream master members up brissy maybe you could go out and give them a run on the rod |

Glx dsr is a ball tearer of a rod and I've got a 2500 on mine to suit.

Mate i have used the 820 glx with a 2500 certate hyper custom with 14lb braid for some racks warfare and never had a problem casting.

I have run both 2000's and a 2500 on mine and have settled with the 2500. The stripper guide should ideally be replaced with a tatsg but I haven't really had that much of a problem with the 2500 so have left the guide set up as is.
This said I mainly use the dsr as a cqb stick and have other rods for the flats so I'm not super concerned with casting distance with it, more for accuracy. Fish with it first with other reels and then suss it yourself, don't reckon you will have a problem with a 2500 so long as its spooled with decent braid. |

Get a 2500 and an additional 2506 spool best of both worlds

hmm im trying to make up my mind. i like how the rod balances out with the 2500 on it but the first guide is too close to the reel. making the line rub more against the ring. i put the 2000 size on it and it feels unbalance. i have steez 2500, 2508 and 2004. i also have rcs 2506 spools. cant decide. but think i most likely settle for 2500

If you think that the rod suits a smaller reel then go the Certate 2000 (230grms) should still balance the rod
