Real 4 spools: RCS vs Sol vs Kix

Mighty Bmasters,

Just wondering what the difference is between real 4 spools. Is it worth forking out the $130+ for the RCS spools when I can get a Freams Kix for $50?

I expect that if the spools are interchangable then the diameter (across the lip) and the spool height must be the same among all spools. Is this correct?

I am after a new spool for my Bravia 2500R to fill with 6lb TD sensor. If anyone has a spare spool that can do the job then feel free to contact me.

Kemo sabe.

Yeah definately could feel the weight difference, but unless you get a resin spool which are light like Exist spools etc the lightness wont be there as RCS spools are spun ally like sol spools etc........... Picking up chicks nope never a prob

But aren't the RCS spools way lighter? Isn't that the main reason they're so expensive?

One time on a big night out in town I borrowed my mates stella and wore it on a chain around my neck. I don't know why the girls weren't talking to me. Maybe they weren't into shimanos.

Next time I think I'll try an exist.

Wait a little while til the top two spools land on our shores. There's no way the chicks could resist.

Lets clarify

RCS 2506, 2508 and 2004 are difinately air spools, not sure about the 3012.

and 1003 are definateky alloy...

for those who are interested the air spools are resin that is tin plated... This makes them considerably lighter than a normal alloy spool.

... and somewhat justifies the price for them. Thanks for the input Shauno.

Ninja, that's just too much spool for me man. I'd be too afraid to use it for fear of getting mugged. Fishos are hardcore round my parts.
