Bream rod comparisons

I was just wondering what the difference between a rod like a diawa sol and a starlo stix is other than a fancy paint job and about $300 cos I really don't want to spend 300 bucks on a rod I rather spend on a good reel. any help would be good thanx

There are a lot of gr8 rodes out there for under $150 one in particular is the phlugar trion. iv had one for a number of years now and iv coart a lot of awsom fish on it. there cost aprox $120 and have way more balls then a stallo stick and personily i think the sol rods are a pice of crap for there price.

LOL.. that's because of you annoying people keep flaunting your new certates...
Are you saying I should get a more expensive rod so I can be genunine with my statement above? I know... My name is Felix and I am (proudly) a tackle snob

But yeah... smooth drag, roller bearings, good gearing system will help you with landing the fish... but the casting distance, casting accuracy and lure action is what will get you the bites in the first place.. and those things you get from your rod, not reel..

I think the rod is more important than the reel in fishing. A good rood will transmit more feel to the angler which means they should be able to catch more fish.

Having said that, a higher the price on rod doesn't necessarily mean it will be a better rod. And a $300 rod is not likely to be twice as good as $150 rod.

But the better gear sure is a pleasure to use.

And now that I haven't answered your original question lets have a crack at it.
A more expensive rod may have better graphite in it and be lighter, and have better feel and may have better components, (guides with harder rings that last longer, titanium frames that don't rust or are lighter and allow the blank to function better, better more comfortable grips), better grips for more comfort and/or feel. They may have more "Bling" to make them look better or a sometimes they may just have a better name.

Or it may have none of those things and just a bigger price tag. Buyer beware.
