excuse the silly question

I have a couple of exceller 1500's as well as some capricorn 2000's. I realise that the two are very different reels, but the caps have some spare spools that belong on a 1500 size reel. (the caps & spare spools being bough s/h)

I was wondering if the same thing is possible with the excellers. Can I purchase a 2000 size spool that will fit directly onto the rotor, or is the rotor of the 2000 exceller larger to accommodate it? Its my understanding that the body is the same on both

I realise the question might seem a little strange, but i ask as I find I can get a few extra meters out of the 2000 spools, against that of the 1500 and if possible I'd like to look at getting the larger spools for the excellers if the cost is not too prohibitive.

New, just about as much as the reel itself.

Second hand, 25-30 bucks...

What would the need be for a few extra metres be though? Have you ever had a bream run 300 yards or are you chasing other things with them too?
