Old model certate line roller noise

hey guys, ive got the old model certate and have recently filled it with some PE braid and have noticed that it makes a scraping sort of noise when braid is going through the line roller. i have checked the line roller and it is not jammed and runs very smoothly. is it because of the PE braid?? any help is greatly appreciated.

Rhys

Get some mono, about half a meter and run it back and forwards around the roller. If the roller turns and its quiet, the noise is coming from the braid. If its noisy, its probably the bearing. Either way, pulling it apart and giving it a clean and re-lube probably wouldn't hurt it although I've never played with a Certate.

second what hazell said about the braid and mono. if the roller makes no noise with the mono, then its definately the braid
