Daiwa Eging Game Special 2506
Has anyone used one?
I've spoken to a few people who claim they are a pretty decent bream reel even though they are obv designed for squid? Thinking of buying one locally for $199 seems like great value to me... Ideal for 6-10lb line apparently, good drag, good in fresh and salt Features Digigear II Metal body ABS air spool Cross wrap Airbail Twistbuster II Six stainless steel ball bearings inc. CRBB Machined aluminum handle Custom neo ball knob Model Gear Ratio #BBearings Weight (g) Drag Pressure Spool Capacity E-Gee 2506 4.7 (70cm) 5+1 255g 3kg Pe 0.8/140M, 1/110M http://daiwafishing.com.au/daiwa.cfm...oduct=egee2506

All the characteristics on paper for a Bream reel, a little on the heavy side though. I can't see why it wouldn't perform.

i have one, they are ok. but its no high end reel......they are based on a exceller.
for the money i think id spend a little extra and get something a little better. ray & annes have the caldia kix 2506 for $249. thats a great price for that reel

@nitlon, For the time being the tsr glx altho might buy a rod to match it down the track if balance is bad - luvias rods are going out cheap tempting......
Gonna get a basic dropshot or something to match my Tierra 1500 for the yak

For such a high end rod like a TSR GLX i think it will be unbalanced as the TSR is a very light rod isn't it?

Back on track, if you want a cheaper option I say go a Sol. Will be that little bit nicer. |

TSR is very light yes, I guess I'm looking for something to use in my yak that falls inbetween the cheaper tierra and the steez, but around the $250 mark.
Not caring so much about balancing with rods atm, as I can do that down the track. Ive only got 2 spin rods atm anyway, the TSR GLX and a Hotrods LMF which is a heavier kinda rod Breambasher, you got one? Which model?

Based on a fairly stock standard body (Exceler DA, except less bearings) but with a 2506 spool and fancy handle knob. I wouldn't get one.

For $199, dont expect too much.....RCS spool and EVA knob is a big step up from the Exceller and hey, it is marketed for squidding. Im sure it can handle bream no probs.
Sure you can spend another $100 and get a Sol but then no EVA knob or RCS spool. |

RCS knob and spool would be worth close to $199. How good would the reel be then??
