spool sizes?

Hey guys,

Pretty sure this thread already been made but, I'm bad at the search option

Anyway, I was planning to get a 2004 size RCS spool (in the "New RCS spools" thread) But the reel I am getting is a 2000 size, not 2004. But, is there any difference in sizes or is it just to seperate then from original (2000) to finesse(2004)?
Also, does anyone know if the new RCS spool would suit a Luvias base?

Thanks in advance.

Talking

2004 spool will fit the 2000 size Real 4 reels, it just has a smaller capacity (shallow spool) and only has 2kg drag, on both the old and the new models.

I stole Raymans link

Gus.

In the thread about the RCS spools. apparently they take 8kg of drag..
I'll re-check.

Just checked the thread, and I missed read it. Its the 2506 spool. 2kg pressure is pretty poor for such a expensive price...

They're finesse spools hence the "lack" of top end drag pressure

Pivot if your really keen on a 2004 spool the drag washers can be beefed up with carbontex.... If your using the reel for bream, Flathead even mulloway you'd be suprised what 2kg of drag is capable of, if you fight the fish correctly you will land it, unless there is heavy structure or the fish gets you on a snag....

A case of trading off max. drag for finer adjustments.

i think this is a better table for the spools and its updated with the newer reels.
I'm not sure what the doughnut symbol is, maybe fits with a spacer.

Yea I guess you're right. by the way, anyone know why these spoos are so much more expensive? As in, what the difference?
cheers,
