Balancing Nitro Vapor

Hi guys,

Nitro Vapor users will agree, that yes it's an awsome rod, but it is tip heavy.
Yes, it's 78gr... but not the comfiest to hold cause you have to counter the weight a little bit with your wrist.. That's with a 200gr reel by the way.

Any suggestions to balance the rod?

Cheers

Do what someone else has done... Strip the Nitro grips and seat and replace with a camo grip... Balances perfectly and actually makes the rod feel lighter.

Check ur PM's

you could possibly add some butt weight
but it will then be heavier

ie having the butt cap removed and the rear of the blank/grip weighted in the
butt and re capped

Also try moving your hand slightly forward that may make a big difference. As others have said, rebalancing means adding weight.

Stick a blob of blutac on and see if it makes a diff to you first!
The weights aren't much, usually a washer or two so a blob of blutac should be similar. Get the scales out after you have found the ideal weight and then you know how much to add!

Thats exactly what im planning.

Are these like specialised washers for the purpose of adding weight to rods?

Did you buy the reel first or the rod? If your clever you buy the rod first then a reel that balances the rod. The rod does more for you while fishing than the reel does.

Also what vapour do you have- the 7ft? I use either a 2004 caldia kix or a 2500 size shimano. I prefer the 6'6 and 6ft vapours for plastics fishing- the 7ft being heavier isnt my choice for finesse fishing, its better out on flats where longer casts are required and your slow rolling hards back.
