need help with loop knots

g'day fellas
i have been trying to perfect a loop knot, i have a book on knots, and i am following the "recipe" correctly on this "perfection loop"
however the line keeps breaking at the knot, as soon as i put a little bit of pressure on it. i was tying it with 20lb mono and i reckon a 4lb blood knot would be stronger.
so can anyone help me with whatever knowledge they have.
cheers
frithy

loop knot

hi...i use this knot a lot in fly fishing.if you have the reciepe there and take your time making sure the line is moist(put it in your mouth)and dont jerk or snap it tight a bit of practice should see you tying a good loop knot.
a knot wont break if it doesnt slip,so pull your knots up tight.

Not to disturb the original topic but, out of curiosity, what is the better knot(as above) in peoples opinion. My original knot that I tie is a lefty's loop knot.
cheers for the replies,
