Rod suggestion

Hi all, due to an unfortunate occasion yesterday, I have lost my custom rod together with my Exist 2508. They are down in the drain I need to get something to replace my old combo. I have my eye set on the new Daiwa Certate 2500 but I am struggling to find another suitable rod. I am looking for something to chuck my soft plastics around for snapper and flathead in Port Phillip Bay. I want something around 7" long and around 2-5kg line class, I don't mind spending a bit more on this rod, any suggestion? Any advice will be much appreciated

Brian

Definitely have a look at the Millerods Bream Buster, i love mine and highly recommend them.

Heres there website and the page of BreamBuster rods -

http://www.millerods.com.au/buster.html

Edit: To answer your other questions yes they are a custom rod build by Ian Miller especially for Bream, his rods are highly sort after. Not definate of prices but i think the Classic is about $495? The Xtra Finesse ones are about $600-$700

Thanks for the info. Do you guys have any problem since it says the max casting weight is 8grams? I use 1/16- probably 3/8th sometimes when fishing in rough weather?

Hey mate I use a Team Daiwa Saltwater for my plastics with a 2500 Team Daiwa Advantage, The rod is a 7 foot one piece, rated at 6-10lb casting weight is 3/8th - 1/8, I love using this rod for salmon, trevally especially when they get above 1kg

i would suss one of the morethan technical masters, theres on on here atm. 3-6kg but feels more like a 2-5, and is 7" and only 115g.

otherwise another vote for the glx dsr, i really like mine. might be moving it on soon though actually...

All the rods mentioned are great rods and no doubt the loomis glx is a pleasure to use and it is backed by the loomis guarantee, but if you are careful with your rod I would look at the Sic Stic Pro, its guarantee is worthless but it is a lot of rod for a small price
Otherwise I would be looking at the Starlo stix, shimano are very good with warranty claims and again it is a lot of rod for a bargain price.

I have a couple of loomis glx flyrods and for casting a flyline they have no equal. But for breaming you are not trying to control a flyline in the air you are just delivering a lure accurately at maximum casting range, a lot of rods can achieve that and still have the sensitivity & response to work your softies or hardbodz to their optimum.

But if you are hard on your gear then no doubt the loomis would be your best buy, IMO.

I can't believe no-one has asked the obvious but how did your setup end up in the drain?
