Hey guys got news from The G Factor this morning of a fairly major fish kill in the Frankston area that stinks all to much of a water quality quality issue. Fished it Thursday night when things were right and pulled out the pb 43cm fish and lost countless more. Went back again Friday and things didn't look right with fish just not feeding and water levels dropping. But I put that down to the full moon coming up at the time.
I think it was Poko? who fished the same general area over the weekend and made mention of low water levels but nothing about dead bream. Which puts kill time between then and this morning. I'm pretty distraught/pissed off at the news as I know there were some good schools of very large, mature fish which either are now dead, or long gone without a return in sight. How can the people/corporations "managing" the area let things deteriorate to such an extent?

when i saw that last pic mate, i just felt sick, both because of the sight and the smell.
The photo doesnt do it justice, but in that little area and a bit to the right where you cant see, I counted over 50 dead bream . I am going there tomorow mornining to see the real damage, once most of them would have been pushed down into the litter trap thing. Definitely not a good sign for the future, and really pisses me off as I was just getting into this place. Unbelievable to say the least. Should send the photos to RSPCA and PETA, maybe they will kick someones arse to do something about it. |

yeah mate your not wrong, it was more of a joke, however its bloody tempting after seeing whats happend to these fish.
Just spot after spot and seeing more and more dead fish, it would get anyone from this site feeling pretty down. I put on a gulp sandworm, just to see if there were ANY signs of life, and sure enough i didnt even get a nibble, and when a bream wont go for that plastic, you know theyre not there. Will let you guys know how tomorow morning looks. |

It might also be good to get a couple of the fish and freeze them for the EPA
