What new reel to get?

I have just purchased a Zion Sakana 7'2, 6-10lb graphite rod for chasing flatties and such.

I am now looking for a nice reel to suit, any suggestions?

Cheers
Coastie

a rough budget will get you more answers, as well as brand preference if you have one

look at teh symetre 120-150 depending on where you get it from great value little reel iv got the 1000 size and its good obviously take your rod in and see what balances well on it

also in that price range look at teh stradics as was mentioned iv got an older model 2000and its still a nice reel

yeah go a sol, or even a tierra if you want to save a bit.
I've got both reels along with airitys and other diawa's and can't fault any of them. hell my biggest flatty of 94cm came on a regal and thats worth $80...

I have just purchased 6x sols to replace most of my old reels and have to say that i am more than happy with their performance. the reason i chose them over the stradic which was slightly cheaper was purely a personal preference because the sol has a lower gear ratio it feels lighter to turn and feels more direct when you are winding. however this is just a personal preference. i have also found that they match out better against more rods.

However there is a plethora of other options some cheaper some more expensive.
I would reccomend you look at the Saros, the Tierra, TD advantage, Sol, and Stradic FI. or there is a few cheaper options such as Abu cardinals and the like
