Getting a new reel, suggestions?
Hey everybody, just put a shimano jewel 3-6kg 2 peice on lay-buy today. But need a reel to match it. I have 3 reels that I am considering buying ATM
1: Shimano Sustain 2: Shimano Twinpower 3: diawa sol but would also consider other reel suggestions

Hi mate,
I would go the Twin Power as i already have 4 of them. I have had no trouble with them and they are still as good as they were new. Cheers Tim

Out of those three, the Sol is the best choice for sure

Unlike many others I'm not brand loyal to the point of stupidity.. I would choose the twinpower simply based on what I've read and heard.

Twinpower FC is great, but for that price, I would try to get a Sephia CI4 C3000S from Japan.

Both Twin power and sols have fantastic reputations. Having used the sol myself i can recommend it. But i don't think you would be disappointed with either.

I have a Sol 2000 and a Twinpower 1000FC. I rate them both very highly. The Sol only goes down to a 2000 model whilst the Twinpower can be brought in a 1000 model. I use the Sol on a Bream rod but i also use it on a heavier rated rod when i go fishing offshore. So if you purely want a breaming reel id go the Twinpower as i reckon the feel is just that bit better as its a little more finese imo, in saying that the Sol is a great reel for breaming also but i prefer the Twinpower. But you will be pleased with either. Go the Twinpower if its just for breaming, go the Sol if you want it to be a bit more versatile.

Hi Lex,
Go the twinpower FC, I have a FB and a FC and would change them. Top reel for the price. You won't be disappointed.

I have had both Twinpower fb and fc's. Definately get the Twinpower FC probably the 2500 to match up with the rod you have chosen.
