Horny ???
Ha...got your attention.
Looking for a bit of info from breamers about whether they have noticed recently that the fish they are catching are about to spawn.... interested to hear about any blackie waters in WA... Trying to work out any patterns.... There 13 systems in WA that commercials are allowed to net..... I understand the fish in the Pallinup andf Bremer are definately horned up....and ready for some hot action

Everything I have been told is temperature and salinity, in saying that i have caught them spoofing from June right through to past Chrissy. Walpole normally spawns around Nov/Dec, but with plenty of fresh still cranking this year Id say it will be dalyed by a while. I understand that Bremer and Pali don't get the same amount of rain/water flowing into it, hence different spawning times.... Im just a guinea pig so really im just guessing pal.
cheers

cheers guys....thanks for the feed back
I got hold of a research paper tonight written in 1996...has some good info Seems the bucks get ready a month or so before the girls hydrate their eggs... Spring to late summer is the main period...but as Richo said...depends on water temps and salinity....and location Netters have been going hard down south this winter/spring....big flushes of fresh to push the bream down into the estuaries towards the nets. ![]() What is a bream worth on ice...$7.00kg....$3.50 each a fish.... I fished two systems over a couple of days...lost four lures .....one jap and 3 scorps...$50 at least....and I let all my bream go... If I had of necked them they still would have been worth more than $10 each.... ![]() Not sure about you guys but I think it only fair to give the fish a chance to spawn .... Might be asking a couple of you for some support to maybe get something done about it. thanks again AM

Andy,
Blackwood fish seem to be on the go. I had a painful 6hrs on the water for 4 touches but the one I did stick was a big boy and he was full of the jizz. 33cm to the fork and 890g according to the Xtools. Fought every bit like a kilo fish. |

geez that was hard work Brad....
Maybe they are quiet coz they are getting ready for the moon on the 17th I think it could be hard fishing the Swan for those in the Grandfinal weekend after next .....then again they could have done the deed and be hungry by then.... Best of luck to those good enough to get a finals jumper

Fished Walpole on the weekend, very quiet only hooked up on small bream. The bream that we got at the mouth of the Franklin on the flats, all were very bloated and full of sperm, largest fish was 35cm to the tip.
Hope this helps. |
