Hey all. This is my first post, and first i would like to say hey to all
.I am currently in the search for a new reel. I have a tierra, and recently won a new rod, and need a reel for it. I haven't recieved it yet, but i am fairly sure it will be spin, not baitcaster. My price range is up to aroun d 200, but will pay more if necessary. I am more of a daiwa person, and have been looking at Heratlands, Sol's, infeet's and another tierra. If anyone has suggestions, or perhaps a good condition second hand reel, PM me please. I would love to get a luvias, however don't wanna pay more than $250. I am looking in the 1000 or 2000 size. Thanks to all who help. Cheers, Dom |

do you know the specs of the new rod?? would be a lot easier for ppl to reccomend something for you if you could provide length and weight of the rod. and remember end of the day your the one that needs to decide which reel to get.

Welcome Bass assasin,
I am also fairly fresh to bream master. Great website you'll learn heaps. I just bought the Abu Garcia Cardinal 802 reel for around $120. I know this is not your perferred brand but I am very happy with this buy. Smooth, nice drag , quality components and good price. If you can find one, its worth looking at

im gunna go ahead (without knowing a thing about the rod) and say sol, considering ur name is bass-assassin, and ur fishing will be in fresh water. If its for salt water, theoretically the heartland is better suited.
i would go the sol though, but u will be spending more than ur budget. cheers

I dont think the Luvias will drop for ages. There is a new Luvias DA that has come out but it looks disgusting IMO.

Thanks all,
I will find out the stats of the rod asap, and let you all know. I believe my local tacklepower has its massive clearout stocktake sale in October. I will try get a bargain there with either a sol, luvias or heartland as they are the three i most like, though will glady settle for the infeet, or even another Tierra. Humkyle you are right, i do mainly fish freshwater, however i am planning on doing more Bream fishing soon, so perhaps the Heartland will be better. I also want a reel that is really easy to maintain, and corrosion resisatant (hence the want for a Luvias) I will definetely keep an eye out for the Abu's. I will let all know specs when i get the rod, but in the mean time, any suggestions and opinions are very welcome ![]() Cheers, Dom |

There is also the daiwa D-Red Back. They retail for about $199, if you can afford it the heartlands are a geat reel and i find them brillant in all aspects.
