RCS Reel Knob's

Hi Guy's,

Will these knob's only suit the Real 4 Daiwa reels or will they fit any of the "newer" Daiwa reels ???

Thanks.

The reels individual RCS knobs fit are listed on the daiwa site.

daiwafishing.com.au RCS

I don't think they fit any others other than the ones that are listed.

Nothing out of the norm. I have a few reels that I wanted to change the knobs on. The reels are a Revros 1500, Red Back 4000 and an Emblem Pro 5500.

I'm not a fan of the "T" standard style knobs and like the look of the RCS EVA round ones which i was hoping I could change.

the revros will deff not accept the rcs etc kind of knobs, only way to do that is to get a rcs handle (non screw in type) cant say for the others as ive never owned those ones before

Hi Namyau,

What are the non screw in type handles ??? The Revros has the screw in cap that holds the handle in place which is what both the Red Back and Emblem Pro have also.

How does the handle stay in with the non screw in ones ??

ummmm.....

Pop the cap off and if there is a screw in there they should accept the RCS gear.

If there is no screw it will be a rivot, in which case... no it wont fit...

A lot more Daiwa reels can accept RCS than most people think...

Older models included... Capricorns etc...

to be exact there's a cap on the end of the original knob. Pry it open and see if its a screw or a rivet. If its a screw then you can change the knob. Otherwise I think you can get handles that has screw on knobs.
Best to enquire Daiwa Australia direct

The old slide in machined handle, marketed as the upgrade handle for the old Luvias, etc. models is what you are after. These will take the RCS upgrade knobs. However, I haven't seen one around for a while: they may have been discontinued. Best e-mail Plat or Japan tackle and ask. Japan tackle used to have them listed, but no longer.

what i meant was the older models used a shaft that goes through the main gear and then has a cap with screw on it. the newer types of reels screw directly onto the main gear. sorry for the confusion

Thanks guys.

Shauno and Riceboy, I've done a bit of looking arround on the web and made a few inquiries with a few tackle stores and basically had confirmed what you guys are saying. Turns out that alot of other reels use the same handles etc as the ones listed on the Diawa web site, so you can fit the RCS gear with no issues.

Cheers for the info fellas.

Hi Elvis,

Have a look at the below page. It's quite simple actually.
