heaps of people use sol's man they have an awesome reputation. i think they retail for around $350 but hopefully some of the other guys will correct me if i am wrong. if you don't want to spend that much have a look at the daiwa tierras, they have the same drag as the Sol's and they are nice and smooth aswell.
also i think the 2000 sized reel will ballance alot better on that rod then the 2500 size. cheers

Id go the 2000, more than enough line on the 2000 and it will keep the weight down. I got a Luvias 2500 and regretting not getting the 2000

The sols are a great reel. Ive had one for sometime know, and for 2000 sized reel you cannot go wrong, for the price. I have used my reel to land Jewies , so im sure it will fit the bill for big bream.
Get on board if your after a reliable reel in the mid range. Last edited by crabcrusher; 07-09-2009 at 04:20 AM. |

Go the 2000 ive landed everything from jew, to kings, to bream and bass on them. The drag and spool capacity are more then enough for anything your likely to encounter unless tou go beast hunting. The gear ratio doesnt make any difference really its not like your high speed spinning or anything
Go The SOL

old, yes, in the scheme of things but considering the SOL Real 4 platform has been used time and time again since it release is a testament to the reliability of the design.
the original SOL, Caldia KIX, Freams KIX, new 09 CALDIA, Heartland, Advantage, UK TDA just to name a few. the 2000 size for 1-3kg will be more than enough. a good indication as to which reel to chose is to read the line compacitiy rating on the spool. rule of thumb is to pick the least to middle rating and thats the best. so from memory a SOL had 4, 6 & 8lb line compacities on the spool. you want to run it on a 2-6lb rod. its a good match. |

Í use a Sol 2000 on a T-Curve XL 2-4kg loaded with 6lb. Great real for the money, shop around I paid $250.00 when Anaconda matched an internet price at Mo's. Caught everything up to 7kg Snapper. Nice combo for thrashing about.

whats wrong whith tierra ? sols are good but chasing every new bling that comes out is expensive and there is allways one more thing you must have , sols luvias exists all great , i stick to one reel i like then get a few , same whith rods then spend cash on lures
