Reel Size

Hey guys about to order my Luvias and was wondering what size would be appropriate. i dont want to go below 2000 size reel and was tossing up between the 2000, 2500 and the 2500R. They are all priced the same the only difference being weight and line length.

Heading towards the 2500 for castability, like the 2500r because it has the 3000 gearbox 'incase' something big comes along but it does weigh a few grams more, further more is there actually difference? Will i be able to feel an extra 45 or 20 grams?

Options:
Model Gear Ratio Bearings Capacity Weight
LUV 2000 4.8-1 7+1 8lb/150m 200g
LUV 2500 4.8-1 7+1 12lb/150m 220g
LUV 2500R 4.8-1 7+1 12lb/150m 245g

Reel will be going on a Millerods Bream Buster Brawler and Probably Sunline Cast Away

Cheers

Really unless your really going to be pushing the little Luvias to it's limits a 2500R isnt going to be necessary. However being that little bit heavier could make it balance better with the Millerrod. Choose whichever feels best, the difference in casting distance is minimal, especially with a good quality line like Sunline Castaway. With Fireline or stiffer lines, the larger diameter spool probably makes more difference, I hardly notice a difference between my 2500 Aspire (10lb Castaway) and Stella 1000 (4lb Unitika Silver Thread) - if anything the Stella almost casts further on the same rod.

I have a Brawler and reels that weigh between 180g and 230g seem to balance up great. Personally I have Shimano Aspire 1000 size reels on all my bream busters, that weigh 205g. The Luvias 2500 has 7kg of drag pressure, plenty of drag just "incase"
